Carolina von Humboldt

Carolina von Humbolt specialises in "trompe l'oeil" painting, contemporary and traditional faux finishes. As a young textile designer for D. Porthault and Eliakim in Paris, Carolina developed an interest in painted surfaces. She began her career creating intricate wall designs for houses on Mexico's Pacific coast, and between studies in Paris and specialised courses in Rome and Milan, her reputation as a "trompe l'oeil" painter grew very quickly.

Today Carolina’s work is represented in residences in New York, Paris, Madrid, Brussels, Palm Springs, Mexico City, Baja California and Argentina. Larger commercial projects have included the Four Seasons, the exclusive Las Alamandas Resort in Costa Careyes and Pfizer Laboratories. Carolina is often asked to lend her creative flair to projects with international designers such as Sam Botero, Robert Couturier, Denise Ducray, Etienne Coffinier, Juan Pablo Molyneux and has a large roster of exclusive clientele.

Carolina is currently based in New York and travels worldwide when called on to carry out various projects. From a single wall to a New York townhouse or California resort, no project is too large or small.
